Introducing a new puppy into your home is a life-changing adventure. This is an exciting time for your and your puppy. During these early weeks and months, you and your new puppy will be learning about each other’s habits. They’ll be exploring their new environment and getting themselves into all kinds of situations.
Starting off on the right foot will help you and your puppy create a strong and lasting bond. Ascot Vet offers a Puppy Preschool for new owners and their pets. You’ll learn:
- How to set up consistent rules and routines
- How to prevent separation-related behaviours
- How to toilet train them
- How to introduce them to other pets
- Tips to manage their puppy behaviours
- Training and general health
Socialisation
Before your puppy has had their 10 week vaccinations, it can be hard for them to get out and about. Now is the time to introduce new puppies to as many things as they can handle in their first few weeks with you. Giving them positive puppy experiences like meeting other pets (including cats!) and vaccinated dogs are a great way to make sure your dog is well adjusted in later life. The Ascot Vet Puppy Preschool is a safe place for your puppy to meet other people and their pets in a controlled environment.
How Old Does My Puppy Need To Be?
Your puppy is welcome to attend the Ascot Vet Puppy Preschool as soon as they have had their first vaccination. To ensure all puppies are of a similar age, we ask that all puppies are no older than 16 weeks when they start the course.
When: Wednesday, 7:30 pm
Length: 5 sessions, roughly 1 hour each
