You want your pet to live a long and happy life. So do we! Like humans, pets can be hiding injuries, disease or health issues. An animal ultrasound is a non-invasive way for our vets to examine soft tissues and organs under the skin without the need for surgery. Ascot Vet offers advanced ultrasound technologies, guaranteeing the highest quality of care for your pet.
Our experienced team is capable of providing abdominal ultrasounds, pregnancy diagnosis and ultrasound guided biopsy, on-site at our clinic. A shorter wait time and faster diagnosis means your pet receives the treatment they need to help them feel their best, sooner.
The Ascot Vet staff will give you a set of instructions detailing what you need to do to prepare your pet for their appointment. For abdominal ultrasounds, your pets should be fasted so the ultrasound is as clear as possible. Most pets will be shaved in the area to obtain clearer images. Some ultrasounds require your pet to remain completely still to get the best quality image, so sedation may be needed. If your pet needs to be sedated, you’ll be instructed on how to look after them the day before, and the morning of their appointment.
Some ultrasounds require specialist services that fall outside of our scope. If this is the case, the Ascot Vet team will refer your pet to a specialist ultrasonographer for more complex cases, including echocardiography (ultrasounds of the heart).
